I think you have got a close up of the picture, don't you? Can you show it to us? Perhaps, it will be easier to identify this man, won't it?

REMI

Yes,it's easier of course. At last I'm at home and can dig through my pictures : ))

Thanks a lot, Svetabel...I wonder who is this gentleman. I recognize neither Count of Caserta, nor his eldest son, duke of Calabria...

This pic is not very clear. I have recognized from left to right infant Luis Alfonso of Bayern, duchess of Talavera de la Reina; infant José Eugenio of Bayern; Infanta Maria de la Paz, grandmother of the infants; Marisol of Mesia y Lesseps, José Eugenio's spouse; infanta Maria de las Mecedes of Bayern, future wife of Irakly Bagration of Moukhransky...But who is the lady to the right?
Thank you for your help.

Don't you think that the lady you recognized as Maria de las Mercedes is in fact Pilar, daughter of Paz and Ludwig Ferdinand of Bavaria?

Guten Tag, Marie Charlotte
This pic was taken in Vatican a little time before the Second world war. The infants of Bayern were received  by the pope Pius XII. Pilar von Bayern was about 45 years old and her niece about 25...This is why I think she is Maria de las Mercedes of Bayern who married to Irakly in 1946. Maybe I am mistaken??? But the pic is very bad...Have you got a better one???

See the link very interesting (in spanish), page 28

Bonjour REMI! :-)

I'm sorry, but I don't have a clearer version of this picture. I own a postcard which was written by Princess Pilar. In this card, she writes about Rome and - if I remember correctly - the Vatican. I have to look at the date once more. But I guess she wrote it shortly before WWII, which could mean that she was in Vatican with her family and could be the woman on the pic you posted.

....And why Pilar (or Mercedes) did not wear medals?... Pilar was Lady of Holy Elisabeth et Teresa Orden. Mercedes had medals not yet at that time. Besides, I guess that Pilar (?) looks very young, doesn't she?

Actually the lady at the very right is Maria de las Mercedes, spouse of Prince Bagration. And her Aunt Pilar is by her right side - she doesn't  look young, that's just blurry picture, but the features are hers.

Maybe in 1935...On the occasion of the wedding of Juan de Borbon y Battenberg, count of Barcelona and Maria de la Mercedes of Borbon Dos Sicilias y Orleans. The Baviera were present
Three dates
1933 (july, 25th) marriage of José Eugenio and Marisol
1946 (august, 29th)marriage of Mercedes and Irakly Bagration
1946 (december, 4th) death of Maria de la Paz

In 1935, Maria de las Mercedes of Baviera y Borbon, future princess Bagration was only 25 years old.
I think the lady at very right looks  a little more older?..
