Thanks for the pictures Annaanderson but it's proabbaly best just to keep this to pics of Anna Anderson and try not to compare her to AN becasue then we would just be retreading a subject that's been done to death!

Also in Kurth';s Anastasia book he mentions a picture that was  a particular favourite of AA's, from the late 20's (?) in a white dress holding her parakeets on her outstreacthed arm, does anyone know of this picture or have a copy of it, if so I'd love to see it!

Thanks Simon. does anyone have a scan? I've heard that most of the material in Lovells's book is borrowed from Kurth's and he throws in some wild stories, if this is the case I have no wish to purchase it so if anyone can provide a scan that would be a great help!

I wonder if anyone else has noticed this? In the few pictures we have of Anna Anderson actually smiling (because she was apparently embarrassed by her teeth and usually covered her mouth when in public, and didn't smile that often) anyway, she appears to have dimples in her cheeks when she smiles. I have looked at many photos of Grand Duchess Anastasia and have never noticed dimples. Anyone agree/disagree? I don't think having dimples (or not!) is something you can change!! I'm really surprised that no one in all the many years of comparing photos and so on ever (to my knowledge) commented on this!

I think you are on to something here.You know until you pointed it out I never noticed that Anna Anderson had dimples.But after looking at numerous pictures of her you can plainly see that indeed she does have dimples.

Anastasia on the other hand did not.I went through looking at various pictures of her from babyhood up until her teen years.They are a few where you see Anastasia smiling and it's very clear she doesn't have dimples.In fact none of OTMA had dimples.I too am under the impressing that you either have dimples or you don't.It's not something you get over time.

This to me is another hole shot in the theory that AA was Anastasia.

Ah yes the old lip biter pics! She knew this was a common AN pose, plus since her lips were so much thicker than AN's she needed to cover them.

Annie I don't mean to be rude but the thread is just about Anna Anderson pics and if we begin to include FS and AN pics as well it is likely just to turn into another thread that compares their various differences & similarities etc. something that has been down so many (and in my  opinion too many) times before.

Is it okay for people to post pics of her next to Anastasia's picture as long as they believe she was AN? Others have posted pics of them together as well, why can't I? Isn't it the purpose of this thread to make comparisons?

The original poster asks specificully for pictures of 'Anna Anderson' so that's just what I'm pointing out when people post comparison pics becasue that would probably turn this into a messy argument between people pro AA and anti AA. If you scroll up the thread you will see that I have also asked a AA supporter to try and avoid posting pics of AN & AA to make comparions because it is just re-treading old ground.

This is nothing about my own beleif any more becasue I'm very confused with the whole issue so I try to avoid brining my own view point itno play.

I hope you understand and it's would proably be a good idea for someone to start a new thread for the specific purpose of comparing pics of AA, FS and AN.

Yes! She was like a twin with Franziska Schanzkowska...The Franziska Schanzkowska of the photographies, of course. We don't know any FS original photos. All of them are retouched in order to make them exactly equal to AA. Even the more idiotic of the photo experts would realize the retouching areas in all the three photos. One of them(the one where Franziska is wearing a braid over her head, crossing it) was suppossed to be the less retouched of the set, but , in fact, I was told by an expert photograph, D'Azzierno, that this one seems to be more and identy-kit than a real photo...and in the others, the white zinc over the whole face is so evident that anyone would deny that these pics are HEAVILY retouched. The more evident retouching is done in the mouth area, in the hair (to imitate the hairdoss that AA was wearing at the time)and between the eye-brows.

There are not but these three "pics" of FS...

Of course, we must accept that AA was FS, for mtDNA said it...And since in this Forum we can not doubt about it, the matter is settled.

However, I think it's my duty to remember that these three pics were retouched...What for? She was FS...No doubt about it. So, what was the use to retouch those pics? And Doris Wingender recognized AA as FS seeing a bad, whitish photo in the newspaper, with black spotch inestead of eyes and mouth. In this photo you could recognize FS...or anyone else. When the judge asked Mrs. Wingender how could she have recognized her "friend" watching this pic, she became pale started to said that she was sick and have the flu, and went away. Anyone saw her as a witness in AA's case.

People who is saying the truth don't need to use made up facts to prove what they are saying. If Doris Wingender knew that AA was FS...what was the use of lying? And why about the retouched photos?

Well. But we must accept that AA was FS.

The photo of FS shown above has  been retouched.

Not the one I posted. There are retuouched versions, and they are obvious, especially in the lips. The one I posted is very washed out, it's not drawn over.
