And the protests over Iraq were particulary virulent. Probably the worst I've seen apart from the riots where Charles & Camilla had their car attacked.

And there have not only been the 4 successful assassinations but numerous attempts and thrwarted plots. Reagan was shot, Ford was shot at twice and at least Bush Sr was the target of a foreign assassination plot.

As for Andrew, is he covered very much in the UK press anymore? It seems a far cry from the level of publicity he received in his Randy Andy and early married days. The brief press flurries over rumors about his relationship with Sarah and then this incident seem to have garnered the most publicity he's received in awhile.

I have clear memories of the Reagan assassination attempt.  Hard to believe that was 32 years ago.

GDElla - The press in the UK seems to have little interest in Andrew at the moment excepting the ongoing will they wont they speculation about him and Sarah re-marrying which has been ongoing for years but flared up yet again last month when Sarah was reportedly invited to stay at Balmoral. Ever since Andrew's role was brought into question by the government he has received less press coverage. There is less bitching about "Air Miles Andy" and his perceived ability to arrange official overseas visits combined with lots of convenient visits to the world's best golf courses. Now the press seems to have little interest in anyone within the family other than the Duchess of Cambridge - which is rather boring really as she is not exactly interesting.

Don't care what anyone says. I'd still have him!
