The first pair of shoes posted by Zukunftsseele have higher heels than the others (and even higher than many of the heels of other shoes that I've seen of that time), so I think that the german Empress was right. I wonder why Sissi liked those kind of heels, she was quite tall for her tiome for wanting to look even taller.

You know, half these beautiful items...I've never seen pictures of Sissi wearing them. Is this the same for everyone else? It would be interesting to post a picture of the surviving dress or the replica side by side with a photograph of Elisabeth in the gown...if, of course, one exists. I know half these things were owned by Sissi in her later life, when she didn't like to be photographed...

I liked your idea dear GD Andrea!! Let me to do my try. Well, many gowns make me to think in a painting (although I'm not sure if they're really the gowns), plus about the lovely gown posted below I don't know any painting or photo (it's even more complicated to find photos of Sissi in bustle gowns!)

That's right! Beautiful embroidery...The style of the bodice is different, though. I always thought the dress in that painting was the same one as in the many pictures of Sissi in her Hungarian coronation gown, as the bodices of those are quite similar. But now I look and see that even though the dresses are very similar in many aspects, there is no embroidery visible in the photographs.
I am certain I saw a picture of the young Elisabeth in that lavender dress that was posted earlier in the thread, but I looked in my files at the ones I thought it was and I was wrong...

I think this photo was from the Sisi Museum Vienna site. I'm not sure if it's still there, though.

About the coronation gown it hasn't those silver embroidery, it's only made of white veil (as you can see in the replicas, paintings and photos). There are many illustrations of her in hungarian gowns that resemble many of those gowns. About the lavender one I can't remember to see any exactly like this but many of a similar style that she wore on her earlier years, many of them in b&w illustrations, anyways I hope that you can find it!!  . The only one that still makes me to wonder is the wedding gown, the illustrations always show different styles of the one that was the same dress!!

I like both! The cape must be from the 1890's when she was already in mourning. Now I found this collage of Sissi's dresses (replicas) online, I've already posted some of them but here you can see them from a different position

The majority of traditional hungarian gowns have an apron, not all. I don't think that it has a special meaning but being only their style.

I think that it must be Franz Joseph's. I have never seen any hussar uniform of Franz Joseph (neither the one used in the Coronation), so I think that it must be his (I doubt that it belonged to other man... Who??   )

Quite right about the black one!
I know I have a picture (actually engraving) of Sissi's wedding gown that looks remarkably like the replica. It's in a book though. I'll see if it's the one the replica is based on and scan it.
Now we only have to identify that white one with the big poufy sleeves... (out of the little collage you made, I mean. There's still quite a few more pieces left to find pictures of!)
