I think the dress color is a creamy peach, not white. Sometimes, colors in pictures, particulary taken with a flash come out a lot lighter than they really are.

If it was worn for the engagement of Marie Valerie, it would have been before the Mayerling Episode and she would not be wearing black as she did after her son died.

I also read that Sissi used a light gray dress, the only color that she accepted to use after she
started her mourning. But the dress below looks pink or other color like this

Between age effects, photochemical decolorizing of dyes, and problems with color fidelity in cameras, its difficult to say what the original color of a garment was.

Indeed...Look what happened to the colouring of Wallis Windsor's clothes ! They did change colour over time.

But reading carefully posts below I find that she wore it on her engagement, not in her wedding.
Can it be other? That was gray as we know?

That could be it. The engagement dress. I think Rudolf was also there and congradulate his sister. I wonder where the white dress now ? In the Holfburg in Vienna or Hungary ?

The antiques roadshow has now been taken off BBCi player, so here is a pic. Its a bit fuzzy I'm afraid.

Estimated value £15,000 to £20,000.
