Pardon me, but may we please get back on topic about the Faberge Ortinos? The real dog Ortino is really nice, but this topic was intended for the discussion of the ones made by Faberge.  :)

Aussiechick, or shall I say Emma, I wish to congratulate you for your site about Tatiana Nocolaievna, and especially for your page about Ortino which is well documented and lovely to read. My french bulldog Duncan ( a brindle boy ) also says OUAF OUAF OUAF to you, and both of us send you our best wishes for a happy Christmas !

Yes Tatianolishka, I am afraid there is not much more to say about the Faberge Ortinos. All I know myself about them has already been posted on this thread. However, never forget that when it comes to such tiny details in the life of the Imperial Family, information may take a long time to come to light. But I am sure one day we shall know more.
There are at least 5 private HUGE collections of french bulldogs antiques to day, and there are probably many more I do not know about. I visited 2 of these collections, each of them including 1500 to 2000 antiques. One has a frenchie figurine dated 1916, exactly in the Faberge manner, but it is not signed ! And this collector has been looking for a genuinely backstamped Faberge frecnh bulldog figurine for more than 30 years, and is still hoping to find one in the future !

I wish I had more to add, but I don't. I'm doing a Google search, but everything I find is pretty repetitive, and a few things talking about Ortino's "custom collar encrusted with semi-precious stones.." (now wouldn't you like that for your doggy? ;)) I guess this was all we could find. :(

I never thought I'd say this, but who cares about the dog? I want one!  :D

Drat. Oh well, maybe someday we'll find something in the archives.
