Why wouldn't that photo be at Christmas. Just because it is cold out doesn't mean Russians sat around inside in fur coats - inside is very warm in winter. There could well be photos in GARF or that have been destroyed. There are albums worth of Romanov photos we have not seen. There wouldn't be photos inside Church, probably, but photos at home? Why not? Although Easter is the most important Orthodox Feast, Christmas is one of our 12 'Great Feasts', and is right up there. The 40 days prior to Christmas are spent fasting in preparation for such a big feast of the Church.
