She married WII's grandson Karl (son of Joachim & Marie of Anhalt) so her children would be his great-grandchildren. They'd also be nieces/nephews to 'Prince' Friedrich of Anhalt (adopted by Marie) and thus perhaps cousins to Anna Nicole's baby.  Hm, that makes the heir to the Russia throne a possible cousin to little Dannielynn.

Because Karl would be his 'half-brother' and so any children of Karl's would be his nieces/nephews.

ah yes, of courcse, I was thinking Friedrich married Marie but was adopted as son, not husband. Brain not working!

did Karl and his siblings have great problems with the adoption? Or did they welcome their new brother?

Karl was Marie's only natural child.

Karl died in 1975, Frederick wasn't adopted until 1980--as a grown man. CNN has stated that Frederick has said that he was a friend of Prince Karl and that the grieving mother adopted him out of kindness . It generally seems to be accepted, however, that it was purely a business transaction since the Princess was very hard up for money. 

I doubt that any of Karl's children have anything to do with this person.

Thanks...In those pictures we see Hermine with two Castell countesses...Who were they?Apart from that with whom else was Hermine on friend terms from this royal/noble circle?

New to me, thank you. In most pictures of her with the Kaiser one mostly sees them with just her two youngest children or the young daughter.

Actually Hermine had 5 children from her 1st husband Prince Johann George of Schönaich-Carolath, 3 boys and 2 girls. Her second son Georg Wilhelm died early, in 1927.
