It's down. You can see a little bit of it behind her shoulder on the left. Very few photos exist of Anastasia with her hair up. She began wearing her hair up in the early summer of 1917, and not long after, OTMAA's heads were shaved for measles! The only ones I know of were taken *after* the IF was placed under house arrest at the AP. (That photo was probably taken in 1915 or 1916).

I think you're right, but at the moment, I can only remember the one of Anastasia, Maria and Tatiana recouperating from measles in the AP. What's the other one you're thinking of?

I think she's wearing a wig in that last one Emily.

Looks like she's wearing her hair up in this one, although she doesn't look sixteen yet.
Here's one too, but it's not in great quality :-\

I don't think she'd wearing a wig.  When the girls shaved thier heads, they are rarely photographed with wigs.  I don't think they ever wore any, except Tatiana in 1913.  If I remember correctly, Tatiana even wrote in a letter after her head was shaved the second time that she was so happy she didn't have to wear a wig. 

There are some pictures after thier heads were shaved with hats on, but you can tell there is nothing but their bare heads underneath.
