It is interesting to note that she signed her name "Margit" on photos instead of Margarethe, does anyone know which pronunciation (Hungarian or German) she used with her family after marriage?

I guess that "Fürstin Margarethe" was her official name and that she was called "Margit" by family members. In Germany "Margit" is a common nickname for "Margarethe", but it is also a name for its own.

Right. As Margarethe Clémentine was a member of the Hungarian branch of the family and grew up in Hungary, I guess that she was called Margit by her family and relatives as well as later on by her husband and the Thurn und Taxis family.

Well it does make sense. Hungarian nickname for Margarethe whom was an Archduchess of Austria-Hungary. A lot of royals were nicknamed by the people and family members. Kings of France with the named Louis was called "King Louie".

"Louie" was NOT a  nickname...... it is the correct French pronunciation for "Louis," since the final "s" is not sounded.  You are mistakenly transliterating "Louis" into the Anglicized  "Louie," as you hear it.  Do/did you not study French in High School, or do/did you opt for Spanish?   Regards, AP

I take no language class in high school. I know English, and some words in other languages- Italian, Russian and German.

And I don't really appreciated your rude reply of what i thought was true.

Well...not really nice of me to call you rude..but I found it unpleasant. No your right about it.

Next time I'll check if it true before posting.

I think THE nose came from the Coburg inheritance (mother of Margarethe).

Yes, and also their three brothers , Phillipe, August and Ferdinand inherited their mother's nose. Clementine was an Orleans Princess so I think this trait came from that side of the family.

Louis Philippe

Of all sons of Albert, he is my favourite one. It´s a pity that he died so young.
