Oh it is in French yes!!! Oh where did you find that I never seen that before. To my knowlege I  le traduire into "In Russia  baptism of the grand duchess Tatiana". Le Petit Journal means the small newspaper. De language es confussing. Es very hard.
Well I found it on froogle.com when I searched Tatiana.
Yeah when I looked at it I knew it was in french because of Petit. I have a friend who speaks 5 languages fluently

There probably are...somewhere. ;) Le Petit Journal seems to have done quite a few illustrated stories on the Romanovs. I have a few cover scans in my collection, but none of them are baptisms.

may i ask... what are the covers of?
wasn't France a republic by then?
why would they be interested in an Autocratic Country after all... they did kill their royal family
in their Revolution.

Hey, a celebrity's a celebrity! Even if you don't like their politics, they're fun to look at. ;)

I think most of these are from Laura Mabee's collection:

This one *might* be from Le Petit Journal. The style and coloring look very similar to me, but the source is not labeled:

Indeed, Sarushka. Alix and Tatiana with portraits of her godmothers in remarks: Dagmar, QV, Empress Fréderick and Queen Olga of Greece... (I actually own an isuue of the paper! :D)

A little bit kitsch and not really reallistic, but quite cute...

I own all the issue of the newspaper L'Illustration published between 1889 and 1909. The only baptism mentionned is Alexei's. For Le Petit Journal, it's strange. It's speaking about Tatiana when she was a baby, but ot about Olga, Maria and Anastasia. For Alexei, I don't know.
They published the portrait of Nicholas and Alix by Galkin in 1896 for the Coronation. Alix's is almost this one (http://groups.msn.com/AlexandraFeodorovna/alixandart.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=174) and I wonder if a picture of Nicholas with the regalia by Galkin existed at this time...

Le Petit Journal was not really a "stylish" newspaper. It was like a tabloid at the time. L'Illustration was printed on paper of better quality.

"Le suplément illustré" of the Petit Journal can be found here:  http://cent.ans.free.fr/menu.htm
Just select "une année" (a year) , top  left.

Very often, etchings are based on photo or a mix-up of different photos...

Aw... That reminds me of when Tatiana she was next to her mother leaning on her also Olga was leaning on her father. Then there's another of Tatiana leaning on her sisters. Those two pictures look cute. :)

laying on him again.
