It looks to me like a fountain and Maria's trying to climb to the center of it -- perhaps to have her picture taken? I think Nicholas is actually trying to balance the chair for Maria, not tip her over. ;)

Where is this fountain?

I'm fairly sure that photo was taken in Livadia. This could be the same fountain:

I saw this picture of Anastasia walking on a stick during the time in the same exact clothes in the other pictures recently posted. I am sorry I do not have this photo I was talking about.

I don't think I've seen that photo. I've got one of Anastasia on stilts, but her clothes don't match these pictures.

Sarushka please show the one of Anastasia on stilts I do not think I ever seen that one. But the photo I seen she was not standing on stilts she was walking across a stick to the land from under the water/stream and she had on a dress with a scarf I believe and it was in May 1913.

This might not be the one you mean, but I think it must have been taken the same day:

Hey Sarushka,
Thank you for sharing that photo of Anastasia on stilts I never seen it before and I am happy to see it now. I was not talking about that photo below it looks different. I seen it in a book I rented from the library. It is defantly in there. I can search for the book and tell you what it is and maybe you will be sure to find it.

I believe it was taken at Spala during 1912.

That is correct, to the best of my knowledge.

I'd guess 1914, but I really don't know for sure.

Hi Sarushka, I have some questions for you.

You have a pretty large collection of Tatiana photographs, right?  What sorts of things do you look for when trying to determine when a photograph was taken?  (For instance, hair length.)
