I'm pretty sure that comes from the recently auctioned album belonging to Anna Vyrubova. Looks more like Olga to me, but it's so awfully hard to tell O & M apart at that age!

Oh, and please don't quote photos if you can avoid it -- if there are any poor souls still using dial-up to access the forum, it slows things down tremendously for them.

Forme it looks more like Olga Nikolaevna in 1914? What do yo think? First in Finlande they were the last time in 1914 and in 1914 Maria had hair down. Second it is more an Olga's attitude, isn't it?

yes I agree with you matushka, I too think it Olga, because of the hair and i doubt the IF had time time to visit Finland during to war.

Of all the pictures in the recently auctioned Anya Vyrubova photo album - I found this one the most interesting - I looked at it and immediately thought it was GD Maria, however I can certainly see where it could be GD Olga as well.

What I found fascinating about this picture is that the dress she is wearing apparently is sleeveless - I can't ever remember seeing any of the GD's with completely bare arms like that (except in the Maria/Anastasia pic where they are standing in their nightclothes) - it
seems very unusual to me and almost "risque"!  Even when they were very little their little summer dresses had little cap sleeves on them I believe - and as the GD pictures seems to be in her teens, it must be really unusual - certainly must have been very hot!

Why "risque"? I understand her if it was REALY hot....
Ou and when i look closer to the pic i think this is really Olga not Maria... but i get confused when i know Maria turn her hair up earlier,before she got 16...
