So, recently I have decided to finally register an account to help me start a book that has been floating around in my head now for quite some time, but unfortunately I am stuck, and am in need of help. The story's plot is a ''what if?'' where the family are snatched away from Yurovsky's guns at the last moment and find themselves in 2018 instead, how a former gang member youth who's trying to set his life straight again meets them and helps them; seeing in them a sort of chance at redemption, and sets out on his quest to protect them, support them, or just taking them to the McDonald's.
How would you react if at one moment your facing your death at the hands of a dozen drunk revolutionaries, then the next are facing said youth about to get in his car at a deserted petrol station, 2:30 AM in Belgium a full century later. How would you react, feel and think about your new situation? Would you say nothing, grin, wave, and wait for him to leave, fear that he is a revolutionary, or at least has revolutionary sympathies, would you swagger up to him and ask ''Oh, hey, how you doing? Yeah, well we're kind of the previous rulers of Russia before the Bolshies took over, could you help us please?''
What would you think (if you were, say, Nicholas, or anyone of NAOTMAA) of his attire, the strange, boxy automobile (Saab 900 Carlsson) he drives, his Australian accent, the petrol station, Belgium, the European Union, Russia, the hundred years since then? Would you immediately agree to accept his help, even thought you don't know him - but are just so desperate o cling onto any chance that that presents itself to get away those horrible people? Would you just cackle ''Jog on, Jimmy'' and flip him El Birdo, or would you accept his offer of asylum? Would you think that this was all God's plan to save you, and that he is a part of it somehow?
What would you think of this, tries-to-do-kind youth, who had a blemished past. Would you hold it against him, or smile, and forgive him because he wants to make it better. Would you be able to understand the faint, but noticeable Aussie accent? Would you take an interest in his collection of graphic novels he's so fond off? Would you think him poor because he services and drives his car himself? Would you believe him when he told you that his car was 27 years old? What would you think of his non-believingness, or his attitude of ''don't bother me, I don't bother you''. When you notice that half his middle-finger and little-fingers are missing on one of his hands, would the women's nursing skills jump in?
How would you cope and adapt to everyday life once he slowly started filling in the gaps the last century made. What would you think of this amazing treatment that can suppress your son's haemophilia? The youth's vulgar language that occasionally slips out, his strange way of speaking, phones, computers, televisions, gaming consoles, the modern map of the world, the fact that your modern day descendants married German royalty and the fact that Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and scant other countries still have monarchies. What would they think about the United States, the middle east, China, Japan, the collapse of the Soviet Union, Putin, Stalin, this intercontinental currency called the ''Euro'', modern-day Germany, nuclear bombs, the youth's pacifistic attitude and distain for war; which he considers senseless violence, how the Great War is overshadowed by WW2, Murica' F yeah attitude (no offense to any Yanks), Brexit (don't get me started on that), Oreo cookies, modern music, modern (European, at least) tolerance for homosexuality, Europe almost being dominated by non-religious/agnostic religious views, modern literature, the events of Ukraine?
I know that I am asking a lot, but I very much need help (still stuck on the first page, for God's sake), and will accept anything that anyone has to offer, thank you.
