I was able to view the images which are basically a virtual tour of the rooms. I wish you guys could see them. I was able to view rooms I had never seen before and I must thank Brian for the link.
you're very welcome
Why is Zenaida's so apart from the rest of the family?
i don't think it is, really. her husband's bedroom (Feliks sr.) is directly below hers. it isn't furnished as one -- it's furnished more like a dining room -- but has a somewhat elaborate wooden staircase in the room itself that connects with her bedroom. Feliks jr. chose rooms on the other side of the palace for himself & Irina because, being newlyweds, they wanted an "establishment" of their own. people have speculated as to why he & Irina didn't move into one of the family's other palaces in St. Petersburg. i've always thought it was because none of the others were grand enough. but that's just my opinion.

the rooms i've wanted to see from (from the various "virtual" angles) are:
25. Silver Boudoir
26. I. Yusupova's bedroom
27. F. Yusupov's swimming pool
28. F. Yusupov's Grand Drawing Room
29. Small Ballroom
30. Assassination of Gregory Rasputin recreation exhibit
that last one (# 30), is in the basement dining room & Feliks jr.'s study in the corner of the ground floor (it has windows that look out onto the Moika & one window that looks out onto what is now more of a "sideyard" (i think there's a children's playground there now) ) but is the place where Rasputin actually died....or was shot, anyway.
SIDENOTE:
there's a wonderful application for mac OSX called "capture me"
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/15496it's rather useless for the yusupov-palace.ru website, but maybe there's a pc equivalent? if the palace website were mac friendly, you'd simply enter one of the virtual rooms, look around, find the angle or view you'd like to capture, place the transparent capture window over the window showing the virtual room, point & click. and voila! there, on your desktop, is a pic of whatever you wanted in jpeg (or ping, or bmp) format.
