Here is what it says about it in the News section: "...It's accumulating an increasingly starry team and is penciled into Philadelphia's Forrest Theatre for late fall - with not-unfounded hopes of migrating to Broadway..."  Sounds like it will be staged this fall in Philadelphia! I am only about a half hour from Philly so if it does come out I am definitely going to see it :D.

Well now, if United is still flying by then, I might just make the jaunty journey myself.  Although I was hoping for a San Francisco tryout.

I just emailed the Forrest Theatre to see if they can send me more info. I don't think this is definite yet, but it sounds like the plans are well in the works.  I think this will be a great show. I'll keep you posted if I hear from them...

I have the cds- the complete musical is 3 -  and the whole thing is exciting. Of course very dramatic but timely I think.  Of course dramatic license is taken but it is meant to a stage story, after all. [still nothing as deadful as that filmed comic book].

Of course, musicals are always overdramatized, but based on the sample they let you hear on the website, I think it really works. Plus it's a great story for something like this. I think that if they are able to stage this, it may just be a hit, even on B'way.

Personally, I think the set is well worth it [actually not so costly] and, being a theatre buff, I feel it is another tiny step in the dream of getting it produced. Hey, might buy a yard of fabric or something !

Well, I got the CD set soundtrack for my birthday and am in the process of listening to it. It's pretty good! I hope they end up producing this musical.

 :)

I just had to let you all know that there is a absolutely wonderful 15 minute clip of the musical (and I didn't know there was one!)
"Rasputin" -- it is being discussed under "Romanov and Imperial Russia Links" -- but I don't normally get that far in the forum ---so
I just thought I'd let you all know.

It is narrated by John Hurt and is 15 minutes of clips, not just from the musical (which is great it seems!) but pictures of the IF as well, some quite rare.  It is well worth your time to watch this (and it is free) -- I was blown away!

Enjoy!   www.rasputinthemusical.com/RazMovie2.htm

Interestingly, the actor playing Rasputin is Ted Neeley - who also played Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar" in 1973!  He's now in his 60s.

Still can't decide if I liked what I saw ... a musical about Rasputin does seem a bit of an odd subject, but then probably so did one about Jesus in the 1970s.

Worth watching though - Neeley's voice is still lovely.

Mr. Hall, I was wondering if you could maybe put the songs on the forum? I can't find the cd at my library, and I would really like to listen to all of it.

I do not think the owners of the work itself would appreciate me doing that ! Besides, I am not even sure if I can technically, I certainly do not know how, have never done it.

Historybuff, you can order this CD here: http://www.rasputinthemusical.com/Cart3.htm. It's not cheap but well worth the price.

Just a tantalising snippet for you all there might be some news on this subject or an extension of it anyway in the next few weeks - possibly - maybe.  My lips are sealed.
