It's true, Sergei is rarely photographed out of uniform. Love this image. Do you know what year the photo was taken? late 1890's or early 1900's?

Ashanti - you dug up two more treasures! And although the second one is much better in quality, I´m absolutely delighted over the first one, which seems rather uncommon. I don´t think I´ve seen an informal photo of Sergey and Ella, where they would seem so comfortable with each other.

Actually, katmaxoz was kind enough to share her find of the second photo. Through some navigating of links I came across the blurry photo of GD Ella and GD Serge, which I believed spoke volumes of the couple.
If I find the photo in better quality I'll be sure to post it. I'm nearly certain it's a screen shot but I can not be certain.

The screen capture shot was actually posted on the Forum some time ago---I can't remember where though.    It was from a book, if I remember correctly. Does that jog anyone else's memory?

I found a copy of it in my files as well, which means I also picked up a copy online. I can't remember the source though it is obvious there are better quality versions to be had if the original source can be tracked down.

I know it was a book--I can see it in my mind's eye but not place the title.    It was the full-length shot and you could clearly see how tiny Ella was in comparison to Serge. For some reason, I'm thinking that it wasn't a book on either one of them but rather a relation?

it's annoying when you can only remember part of a book title like this isn't it?  It's much harder to remember titles, or even authors if they aren't in a language you have a good level of familiarity with.
