Keeping track through diary entries?
« on: May 31, 2007, 10:37:46 PM »
Are there are diaries of Alexandra's that you'd find any mother might keep for her first child? (Most moms usually only keep it for their first, they're too busy after that.) Alexandra never seemed to write anything like, "Olga has a tooth," or "Olga took her first steps today." I don't think Nicholas would, not back in those days, but I'm sort of surprised I haven't seen Alexandra doing it.

Actually, I seem to recall something about Nicholas writing when one of them took their first steps, but not Alexandra. Sorry, I can't remember where I heard that, though.
Maybe they were too busy dealing with political affairs and such...actually I doubt it but it's an idea.

hmm i'm not sure!
i know that the family were not very thorow in writings things down!

i mean.. Nicholas wrote down his wedding day very "boringish" if you will.
got up. got tea with blah blah blah and went down stairs... left for so and so. got dressed
went to church. left it married!

like that... i have never realy heard of them, alexandra, in any case writing this down
i think Nicky was more devout to his diary than any of them!

I never really found their diary entries 100% thrilling.  I mean, granted, The Diary of the last Tsaritsa and A Life Long Passion are tresure troves of the basic info from a good percentage of the diaries belonging to the immediate members of the IF.
I only say this because I'm used to seeing and hearing of journals/diaries these days containing much more info than a century before.
Weird.
