I know that there was an exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution in Washing DC.  The title of the exhibit was "After the Splendor - The Art of The Last Grand Duchess of Russia."

It was an exhibition of paintings by Olga Alexandrovna.

Ian Vorres had something to do with it.

A couple of nights ago, I found a copy of the book or companion volume, but I didn't bookmark the site and now I can't find it!!!
Urrgh!   >:(     :'(

Does anyone know about this exhibition and/or companion book?

It was a small exhibition.  No book.

Easy to find using a search engine "after the splendor" + olga

Thank you, I did find that site but not a way to find the catalogue.

Then just last night I found a copy on line in a British Bookstore.  All four pages for just $107 USD.  I don't think I will be getting it any too soon.

There is another, however, called The Art of Grand Duchess Olga of Russia

That link is to eBay and the book looks very nice.  I can't find it anywhere else, though.  And I've never seen it before.

No real catalog was published for the exhibition, which was rather tiny!!!

Hi AlixZ,

I found a copy of the Art of Grand Duchess Olga of Russia on ebay a while back. I think I paid $60 for it. If I can give you any information on the book, I could look through it and try to answer your questions.

Thank you.  I did bid on the one that I put on the link to, but the price is getting up there, so I will probably stop bidding.

Do you like the book?  Are the graphics good?

Thanks again   :)

This book, I believe,  has no connection to the small exhibit in DC

AlixZ,

The book catalogue "The Art of Grand Duchess Olga" is not from the Smithsonian Exhibit. It is from a Russian exhibit to benefit the Russian Relief Program in the Name of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna. The catalogue is written in three languages: Russian, English, and French. It is approx 119 pages with approx 50 paintings by Olga. The graphics of the paintings are very nice and most of them are large. I like the book because it is the only volume I've been able to find with a collection of Olga's work. It is a bit expensive for paperback, but if you are looking for a nice collection of her paintings, then I think it is a nice addition to your library.

The first section of the book has an essay about Olga and her art.

I hope this helps.

rgt9w - Thank you.  I do want to get it, but I am afraid that the other person bidding truly wants it and I don't want the bidding to get too high.

The book sounds lovely and it would be nice to see a collection of OA's art all in one place.

Thanks again
