Okay, I'm assuming that that was run through an online translator so I put it back into Spanish and here's my translation, hopefully it's easier to read. Some of it didn't make sense or seemed redundant so I cut out a few words here that are repeated a few times in a sentence with no apparent (to me) reason to have been repeated.

I have just received a book that I thought I wouldn't be able to obtain. The Tsar and Tsarina in France. It had the tsar in Compeigne* but this one is much more extensive. It has photos of the bridges of Paris. I think you are certain to enjoy every moment of this reading with the adorned fronts**. I do not know if the same thing happens to them, when the new book comes there is a ceremony to open it***.

I have many questions to do with this and I need your help.

Thanks in advance, Christina Franc

*I'm guessing this is a place name but I'm not familiar with it
**of the bridges, I assume
***didn't make any sense to me, could be something to with when this book comes out

Well if I got that right and you have questions, Christina, feel free to ask. I myself am not familiar with this book but chances are someone else is. If you need translation help, just send me whatever message you want to post in the original Spanish and I'll see what I can do.

Compiègne is a small town about 75 kilometres to the northeast of Paris, France: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compi%C3%A8gne.

During their visit to France in 1901, Nicholas and Alexandra also stayed at the chateau at Compiègne, on 18-20 September I believe. It appears that a press document about the 2001 exhibition about their visit to France is still available on line at http://www.musee-chateau-compiegne.fr/documents/dp_nicolas.pdf , but the exhibition catalogue (Un Tsar à Compiègne - Nicolas II , 1901 ) is much better of course.
"The Correspondence of the Empress Alexandra of Russia with Ernst Ludwig and Eleonore, Grand Duke and Duchess of Hesse. 1878-1916"
"Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig and Princess Alix of Hesse and by Rhine in Italy - 1893"
"Ludwig IV, Grand Duke of Hesse and by Rhine - Gebhard Zernin's Festschrift"

Maybe this means, that when one gets a new book, it's such a special thing that it's almost like a ceremony opening the book and looking through it?

Also, nice work on the translation Ritka, it made it more understandable for me. Thank you  :-*

Thank you also Cristina for sharing information on this publication with us!  :)

Thank you Helen, I'm not familiar with small towns in France at all, good thing you are!

That sounds like it could be it. Your interpretation makes more sense (mine implies that the book isn't out yet which it obviously is).

No problem at all! :-* It's my first day of summer break, it was a nice break from watching clips of Friends.

A search for this title on the French Amazone site produces two titles from 1896-1897. Hommage au tsar : le tsar et la tsarine en France en 1896 is a book of 231 pages published by Le Journal in 1897.  But of course this book cannot possibly describe the tsar's visit to Compiègne in 1901.  :-\

Didn't Nicholas and Alexandra bring Olga to France in 1896? I know it's not the same trip, but I have a vague memory of reading about that (but I can't remember where! :( )

By the way, sorry about my post up there. I didn't realize my replies were also in the Quotes brackets.

Yes, I think they did. They visited Queen Victoria at Balmoral in September; they had Olga with them there. From Balmoral, they travelled to Portsmouth and on to Cherbourg and Paris, after which they went to Darmstadt, where they stayed with Ernst Ludwig and Victoria Melita for almost three weeks.

Not, it was not the same trip.
They came in 1896 in Paris with Olga, then in 1901 at Compiègne, alone.

The book is about the exhibition which take place at the Castle of Compiègne, a few years ago.

Translation:
Thank you very much, Margarita Markovna.* This translator is disappointing; I will try to find the best one. Like a great fan at the moment, I thought that I knew many things, but after Helen's post, I believe that I don't know anything. What a wonder that [there are] those many details. It is very interesting. Thank you also to Helen

*De nada ;)

The visit to Compiegne was of great importance to Alexandra Feodorovna.   For here she was able to meet up with Dr Phillipe (predecessor to Grigory Rasputin).

Is it known when and where exactly they did meet?

Thank you for your kind words, Cristina, and thank you for the translation, Margarita. :)
Hommage au tsar... about the 1896 visit must be full of interesting details almost forgotten: 231 pages about a visit that lasted not more than 5 days. 8)  :D
