van Hoogstraten Bookstore
« on: August 27, 2006, 11:15:01 AM »
I'm thinking about a trip to Amsterdam in a few months.  I might make a day trip to The Hague.  How easy is it to get to van Hoogstraten once I am there?

Is there more of a selection in store than what is on their web site?

Also, are there any notable spots in Amsterdam to look for books on royalty?

Thanks!  :)

Yes, De Slegte has many Royal books. But...there are some 50 stores, in the Netherlands and Belgium together.

Amsterdam has the biggest Slegte Store.

Yes, I was impressed by tha Amsterdam-store (been there in march). I usualy go to the one's (there are two) in Antwerp, Belgium. They also have a vast collection, not as big as in Amsterdam, but hey, Antwerp is no capital ;)

van Hoogstraten English Bookstore is a wonderful place.  I visit them 4-6 times every year and like the owner very much.  They sell ALL of the various titles published b y Eurohistory.com and many others that we supply to them from other publishers.

Besides, they are absolutely wonderful people and a delight to, not only deal with, but also visit.

I was in Holland last November, but unfortunately didn't get a chance to visit them.  Even though you can order online, it still would have been nice to visit.  Maybe next time.  :)

My dear fellow members,

Last Saturday I was in The Hague, by the nicest bookshop in the Netherlands, Van Hoogstraten.

In the shop were 2 friendly ladies. Mother and daughter. Who helped me greatly. They have very nice books.

They still have paperbacks of Little Mother of Russia, by Coryne Hall, A Romanov Autumn of Charlotte Zeepvat etc, etc.

They also can get hold almost on every book in the world. Also on antiquarian books.

So, members, order from this bookshop.
