OT's room

This one is Olga and Tatiana's room at Peterhof.
When I get home I'll post some more that I can find!

Thank you Sarushka, you always have the photos! Is that second one from your first post Tsarskoe Selo?

Yep, they're all from Tsarskoye. One of the watercolors is often labeled as the little pair's room, but as Ortino once pointed out, the walls are pink, so it must actually be the big pair's. (Maria and Anastasia's room had grey walls decorated with roses and butterflies, while the big pair had pink walls with morning glories and dragonflies.)

Thanks Sarushka you are always the one with all the photos !!!  :) Those photos are great I never seen the one of Maria and Nicky in the big pair's bedroom. Are those the same beds they used in Tobolsk? Their rooms look nice the mirrors or religous icons on top of that and there is something hanging down like a light or lamp. Thanks for starting this topic it is very wonderful !!! Great.....

Yes. They took those camp beds all the way to Yekaterinburg.

Do you know if it was wallpaper, or painted on? Pointless question, I know, but I'm curious.

Sarushka, what is the provenance of those water colors, i.e., do you know who created them, and the date of their creation?

I know the flowers and insects were a stenciled (painted) frieze. I'm assuming the rest of the walls were painted rather than paper- or fabric-covered.

Yes, they were painted in 1931, just before the children's rooms were dismantled. I'm sorry I don't recall the artist's name just now. There were 12 paintings originally, but so far I've only been able to find nine.

Here's an old thread about them:
Interior watercolors of the AP

It appears a number of my images on that thread have disappeared from my ImageShack account. Poo.  :P
