These photos are so pretty!  Was there a certain age a young lady had to be before presentation to the court?  Was there a special ceremony for each young lady or were several presented at once?

These pictures are no doubt from the "swan song " ball given in their honour by their aunt  the famous St Petersburg hostess Countess Marie Kleinmichel(nee Countess von Keller) during the season of 1914..limited to a mere 300 guests it was much discussed in later years including in the Countesses own memoirs...

I've fond this about mme Schebeko: She was born in 10 July 1871 in Andreievskoie, Yaroslav. She named Princess Anna Anatolievna Kourakine, daugther of Prince Anatole Alexandrovitch Kourakine and of Princess Elisabeth Mikhailovna Wolkonsky. In 14 June 1891 she marry with Nicholas Nicholaievitch Schebeko (born in 1863) and had two sons: ALeksandr (1892) and George (1895). All of them survived the revolution..

Thank you so much!
For me, it's priceless...
I worked on the Russian fashion and I 'm fascinated by the Russian/slavian court dress and its folkloric influences/roots... But at this time, I couldn't see the books by Ferrand...

Tnahk youuuu!! :-*
