Oh the mixed up names drove me up the wall too.  I loved all the actual family footage though and overall it was on okay program.

I liked it. But the American version had a better narrarator and didn't focus so much on Anna Anderson and Anastasia as it did on the whole family so I hope they decide to release that version on DVD.

This all sounds like a rehash. Anastasia died with her family on 17th July 1918. It has been proven beyond doubt. Why waste film on the ridiculous imposter Anna Anderson? What a waste of time.

The only GRRR factor was the usual misidentification of the girls, at one point "Maria" was actually Olga, Also, all the girls were misidentified in one photo. If you manage to catch it, it is well worth a look  ;)

LOL, this drove me mad as well! The hilarious thing was though, that it was at the point when they were saying about the identification of the bodies!!! That was bad enough on the 1913 photo, but a few seconds later when they showed a close up of Olga on this photo with Tatiana(http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/SaraFeodorovna/OT19133.jpg), they called her Maria again! That one even says down at the bottom: Grand Duchesses Olga and Tatiana Nikolaevny!!!!

Does anyone have a copy of it? I recorded it on my digi box and was going to put it on to DVD to put on the computer and post on the AP Forum, but it got wiped from the memory some how...

Next Wednesday, 8th August, at 9.00pm on National Geographic a one hour programme:

"History's Conspiracies: The Romanovs

Over 70 years after the Romanovs were killed by the Bolsheviks, the bodies of Tsar Nicholas II and his family were exhumed. Two children were missing. Did Alexei and Anastasia escape?"

There isn't any more info.   I don't know if it's a repeat or if it's been shown elsewhere with a different title.

Strange it was shown on channel 5 first - that is why I thought it would be a different one.

I'm going to be out anyway (and I forgot about Heroes - can't see it tonight either.)
