I agree . . . Hooray! And a couple of huzzahs as well.

The irony is not lost on me, either, that this news has been announced on the 89th anniversary of the execution of the Emperor and his family.

Thanks for posting this vlad. I hope it really does happen in the next 6 months, I am not sure if the concept of time is the same in Russia  ;).

Agreed! Very good news. It's only an initial step, and visible results are years away, but we can look forward!

Finally a step towards restoration!! God bless it. However, I read somewhere onn the site that they have no intention of restoring N&A's wing back to how it was....but rather to the original Quarenghi design  :-\ I pray it is just a rumour.

See, this is what I'm talking about:

I heard Russians don't consider Alexandra's taste of decoration worthy of restoring and appreciate the Neo-Classical style much more.....

As much as I would like N&A's wing to restored to how they had it, I feel that even if they restored it to the original plans, it is still 150% better than doing nothing with it.

Yes, I would have to agree with you. Anythings better than nothing I suppose!

Yes I do hope the Russians will restore the Alexander Palace as beautifully as they have done to so many others that were terribly damaged.
