A friend of mine who has HBO recorded the episode for me last night, apparently the Romanov one was included in that one, as well as OJ. Not very much on each, needless to say. I will give my feedback after I watch it.

Oh I am just sick! I have HBO  but didn't bother to check because I thought that would be last and they didn't specify what was going to be on first so I assumed they went by numbers! Please tell us about it when you see it.

They sure repeat their movies enough, but I wonder about something like that. I'll check.

I watched it last night. The will repeat late on the weekend, but I'm not sure when. But do not despair my friends, it is interesting, but not great. This forensic doctor had first hand experience with the Commission that investigated the Kennedy Assasination in 1978, later he discussed the poor custody of the evidence in the OJ Simpson Case, then the Romanov Family burial discovery. It took like 15 minutes or lso. Two things that I found very interesting: One of the bodies (the documentary doesnt say which one) had congealed fat which guarded two bullets consisteng with WWI ammo; and some of the segments of movie clips used where new to me. I would  liked the show to have dedicated one episode to each cases indivudually. I think that from the scientific point of view is a wonderful example of how DNA and forensic investigation in general contribute to history.

Thats just my opinion.

So was there nothing about AA?

The congealed fat was Dr. Botkin's stomach, I've heard that before.

Looks like it repeats Sunday night at 8:45 EST.

The episode did discuss the Anna Anderson case, although Dr. Baden made a mistake in where the tissue sample for Anna Anderson came from. He states it was found in Germany, when in fact it was found at a hospital in Virginia. Like the previous poster, I found some of the footage of the remains interesting and it was the first time I had ever seen any pictures of the remains of Dr. Botkin with the fat and an xray with the bullets inside. From a science standpoint, the photos were interesting. Not a lot of new information if you are familiar with the Romanv case.

For those of you who have never read Dr. Maples book, he has a chapter dedicated to the Romanov case. Dr. Baden was asked to accompany the American Team to Russia by Dr. Maples.

Did he agree with Maples that AN was the missing daughter?

Sounds like we are more familiar than they are! An appendix found in Germany instead of intestines in VA? Hey maybe that's how they switched them! (j/k)

The issue of the which daughter was missing from the grave is not addressed directly by Dr. Baden. However, the narrator states the mssing children were Anastasia and Alexei.

Obviously this one is before the new remains were found...

The BBc are showing a series where Jonathan Dimbleby travels through Russia (I think mainly Siberia) I have seen bits of it and it is very good. Last night Jonathan visited Ekaterinberg and I have posted this link for your enjoyment. The interesting bit begins at about 12 minutes in to the show and lasts about 5 minutes.
I hope the link works and you are able to enjoy it.
