Robert you are correct.  Most of the huge silver services of the aristocracy were melted down for currency.  the famous picture of the Yussupov silver being catalogued before melting comes to mind.  I have never ever seen a piece of silver directly attributed to the Alexander palace, BUT we just don't know what was sold at Antikvariat nor by Armand Hammer, so there just "might" be a few pieces floating around out there.

How would one know such items were specific to the AP I wonder?  The ciphers of N&A would just mean it was during their reign I would think, could have been used anywhere [Livadia, the Train?].  From what I could translate from a book on the Imperial yachts, there were chests of silverware taken aboard when the family traveled, so perhaps the tableware  just went with them, wherever they went? In those days, there were servants who cleaned and controlled the silver inventory,  perhaps in the end they took a few "souvenirs"?

Sometimes in the Palace records, they would note down which "service" was used for what occassion, just as the notation that the Blue Border Service was used for Tatiana's birthday.  There may well be a notation for some events which silver service was used, with a sufficient description to identify it, if it shows up.  Also, the Hammer sale items all come with a specific provenance as to location.  The problem with the Hammer sale descriptions is that while "usually" accurate, they aren't always. Sometimes non-Imperial items of equal quality were "dressed up" with an Imperial provenance.  One never knows when these Hammer Gallery items pop up.

The Antiqvariat descriptions were usually relaible, so maybe some lucky tourist picked up a place setting or two of AP silver, and still has the original receipt.

That would be interesting, Alexandre. Especially if they have web sites. Ville Russe in NYC is also a good source. They are pretty thourough in their listing of provenance. I know each of the Imperial Orders and each of the Guards had their own china services, I wonder if they has separate silver as well?

Not sure of the Guards and Orders, I would suspect the did. I do know for certain that each Grand Duke/Duchess had individual patterns.  I have pieces from two Grand Ducal services.

Thank you, Alexandre, I shall  check them out for resources! I appreciate your efforts.  My own particular interest is Russian porcelaine, although I no longer collect the stuff.

Not to worry, Alexandre. I am not the least bit interested in buying the stuff any longer.  Just like looking at it. Sold off my own collections  some time ago.

Now the former Lomonosof factory of Peterburg started to make replicas of the palace's  porcelaine.
So anyone could buy it in the special shops.
But the price for such replicas is very high.
maybe it is better to buy the original one from the French auction :)

Hello,
I found a site selling a series of attitude which seems to be part of the service of Alexander Palace. And I would like to know if this is the same service or service resembling it:
